ETF Trends: International – 6/29/16

Gold and Treasuries continue to outperform on a five day basis despite a painful selloff into the close of US equity markets for bonds today. We’ve seen large bounces in European equity markets over the last couple of days, but that hasn’t helped recoup most of the grim losses following the UK’s referendum vote last week.  A sneaky strong performer has been natural gas with silver, TIPS, and other inflation proxies also doing quite well.

ETF Trends: US Sectors & Groups – 6/28/16

Below is our daily list of the twenty best and twenty worst performing ETFs over the last five trading days.  While most assets that took a hit over the last few sessions bounced today, on a 5-day look back European ETFs continue to hurt, filling up the majority of our worst performer list. Banks and Capital Markets were the only non- regional/country based exposure or exchange to rank among the worst performers.  As in prior days, gold and US treasuries and bonds were the winners, though gains were reversed to some degree on a one-day basis.

ETF Trends: Hedge – 6/27/16

Below is our daily list of the twenty best and twenty worst performing ETFs over the last five trading days.  The markets continued to reel from the after-shocks of Brexit. A large group of European exposures continued to tank, as did, unsurprisingly, the British pound. Peripheral Europe and banking related stocks have been especially hard hit. Gold exposures were again the winner of the chaotic day.  Treasuries and other low-risk bonds also performed strongly.

ETF Trends: US Indices & Styles – 6/24/16

Brexit has demolished the value of international ETFs with Spain and Italy falling double digits over the past five sessions.  Every other European ETF also got hit hard, while gold exploded highe today along with the Japanese yen and USD.  MLPs have also surprisingly outperformed over the past week.

ETF Trends: International – 6/22/16

Below is our daily list of the twenty best and twenty worst performing ETFs over the last five trading days.  As in prior days, region and country based exposures remained incredibly strong, dominating the list of top performers.  These ETFs were primarily based in the Americas and Europe as well as emerging markets.  Asian exposures were absent among the top performers and Hong Kong and India turned in anemic performances amidst the bottom twenty.  Gold slipped even further as did the biotech stocks. US Treasury ETFs continued to fall as rates rise across the curve.
