Growth stocks are performing very poorly again today, but the Dow is slightly in positive territory. The S&P 500 is down a bit as it tries to move back above its 50-day moving average. Below is a chart of the S&P 500 over the last six months. As you can see, the index hasn’t been above its 50-day since prior to its late-August collapse. Over the last two days, it has tried and failed to move solidly back above the 50-day, which is proving to be a tough resistance level to re-take. We’ll be watching this closely as the day progresses to see if it can make a final push.
