Each Friday during earnings season we publish a list of the largest companies reporting earnings the following week. Below is the list for the week of 4/20-4/24.
On Monday we’ll hear from Morgan Stanley (MS) in the morning and IBM after the close. Verizon (VZ), United Tech (UTX), DuPont (DD), Lockheed Martin (LMT) and Gilead (GILD) all report on Tuesday, followed by Amgen (AMGN), Coca-Cola (KO), Boeing (BA), McDonald’s (MCD), Facebook (FB), AT&T (T), Qualcomm (QCOM) and eBay (EBAY) on Wednesday. Procter & Gamble (PG), 3M (MMM), General Motors (GM) and Caterpillar (CAT) will report Thursday morning, and then Google (GOOGL), Microsoft (MSFT), Starbucks (SBUX) and Amazon (AMZN) will release numbers Thursday after the close. Biogen (BIIB) will finish the week off with its report Friday morning.
In the table below, we have pulled key earnings report data from our Interactive Earnings Report Database, which is available to Bespoke Institutional subscribers ($195/mth or $1,950/yr). Of the companies listed, UTX, LMT, FB and LLY have beaten earnings estimates the most often, while GILD, FB, ABBV, GM and SPG have beaten revenue estimates the most. In terms of price reaction to earnings reports, some of the stocks that have historically done best on their report days include MS, UTX, QCOM, ABBV, GOOG and BIIB. Facebook is the biggest standout though. While it doesn’t have a ton of historical reports since it only went public recently, the stock has averaged a gain of more than 5% on its report days.
