Companies that pay dividends typically pay them towards the end of earnings season and in the weeks after. From now through the end of September, nearly 200 stocks in the S&P 500 will go ex-dividend. Today alone there were dozens of companies that went ex-dividend, and there will be dozens going ex through next week as well.
Below is a table showing the S&P 500 stocks going ex-dividend through next Friday. Big names like CVX, TGT, MSFT, MMM and JNJ are all on the list.
