The S&P 500’s dividend yield was under 2% recently, but after the decline we’ve seen over the last few weeks, it’s now yielding 2.25%. For those interested, below is a list of non-Energy names in the S&P 500 that have seen the biggest jumps in yields over the last week. We eliminated Energy names since their dividend amounts have come into question lately.
A name like GM, which was already yielding 4.55% last Wednesday, is now yielding 5.22%. Ford (F) has seen its yield jump from 4% up to 4.6%. Altria Group’s (MO) yield has risen up to 4.33% from 3.79%, while Wynn Resorts (WYNN) has jumped 52 bps from 2.22% up to 2.73%.
