For those looking to catch up on 2015’s winners and losers over the long Memorial Day weekend, below is a list of the 40 best and worst performing stocks in the S&P 500 YTD. As shown, Netflix (NFLX) tops the list of winners with a gain of 82.68%, followed by Skyworks (SWKS) at 45.26% and Hospira (HSP) at 43.98%. NFLX is up nearly double the next best stock in the index. Other notables on the list of winners this year include Amazon.com (AMZN), Electronic Arts (EA), Expedia (EXPE), Starbucks (SBUX), Yum! Brands (YUM), First Solar (FSLR) and Salesforce.com (CRM).
SanDisk (SNDK) has been the biggest loser in the S&P 500 so far in 2015 with a decline of 31.36%. Keurig Green Mountain (GMCR) has done slightly less worse with a YTD drop of 31.25%. Watch-maker Fossil Group (FOSL) ranks 3rd worst at -28.76%, and then Ralph Lauren (RL) and Wynn Resorts (WYNN) round out the worst five. Other notables on the list of losers include Chesapeake Energy (CHK), Micron (MU), American Airlines (AAL). Tiffany (TIF), Michael Kors (KORS), Whole Foods (WFM), Harley-Davidson (HOG) and Yahoo! (YHOO).
