Much attention was paid to the fact that today was the seven-year anniversary of the financial crisis low made on March 9th, 2009. Unlike that day, today’s action was rather quiet, with the S&P 500 SPY ETF gaining 0.49%. The Energy sector outperformed here in the U.S., while countries like Australia, Canada and Russia rose 1%+. Oil and natural gas rose while gold and silver fell, and Treasury ETFs declined as well.
