Below is a look at the performance of various asset classes today (3/22/16) using key ETFs traded on U.S. exchanges. The S&P 500 and Dow both closed slightly lower, but the Nasdaq 100 (QQQ) finished up 31 basis points. We actually saw Health Care outperform and sectors like Materials, Industrials and Energy underperform. This is a mirror of the action we’ve seen over the last few weeks. As you’ll notice in the bottom right section of the matrix, Treasury ETFs finished down slightly on the day, and on a month-to-date basis, the 20+ Year Treasury (TLT) is down the most of any ETF on the board.
